Biathlon of Foolishness
A Good Foolish Idea
When CEO James Cameron, COO Adam Marchant-Wincott and Fundraising & Corporate Relations man Ben Williams decided to take a dip in the cold and unforgiving Irish Sea back in 2015, little did they realize that this foolish idea would become a traditional part of the Race of Remembrance Weekend.
With the foolishness infecting more, the ridiculous act of dressing up and subjecting oneself to the cold harsh waters is now a must for anybody or at least one crazy member of each race team (with little sense or feeling) participating in some light-hearted and good fun fundraising activity.
Reporting to the paddock, participants complete half a lap of the track before descending a steep path to the Irish Sea where various exercises are carried out by, in, and under the water. Once completed, it’s back to the paddock to complete further exercise required of them by Drill Sargeants they meet on the way.
Light-hearted and totally ridiculous, it is a great part of the weekend, and as each year passes becomes ever more popular!
Your race entry is your Biathlon of Foolishness entry.
For the uninitiated, the Biathlon of Foolishness is a light-hearted, sporting distraction and a bit of a fundraiser for The Forces’ Motorsport Charity. Taking place on Saturday lunchtime and involving a half mile jog, a descent down a cliff and a quick dip in the Irish sea, each team is invited to enter at least one team member and we’d encourage the rest of the team to sponsor them. If a team fails to enter a participant, then they’re invited to buy their way out – please come and support either way.
If you’re not participating, you’re very welcome to buy your way out which you can do here

Text BIATHLON to 70085 to donate £10:00
With the Biathlon of Foolishness set to return this year, watch foolishness at its best!
The Biathlon of EXTREME
Foolishness
On Monday 10th November 25 - an entirely unlicenced, unregulated and certainly silly bunch will be completing a Biathlon of a different sort to raise money for #YourRoR
Summiting Yr Wyddfa - Snowdon - in November, followed by a refreshing dip on the way back down in Glaslyn - the highest, coldest and most beautiful lake in Snowdonia. How hard can it be?*
If you are attempting Wales’ highest mountain in November - please do take it seriously. No fancy dress - no deck shoes (you know who you are) and do follow the National Park’s guidelines on mountain safety.
We cannot provide safety cover for this activity, but we can certainly share what we know. If you wish to attempt the EXTREMELY foolish endeavour, do get in touch with us on fundraising@missionmotorsport.org
Good luck with fundraising! Every penny counts

2020- Pain on the Plain
In 2020 we didn’t let the pandemic put a stop to the shenanigans! With a little help and instruction from Jason Fox, the Mission Motorsport CEO, a Trustee, a Mission Automotive Manager, an Ops Manager, the then new girl, and a Beneficiary were put through their paces and subjected to a grueling and very cold physical challenge raising much-needed funds for Mission Motorsport.
Having set the bar high, the pressure is on!
