Race of Remembrance: Lets go Karting!

  • Mission Motorsport teams up with BARC and Thruxton Kart Centre to host inaugural Karting Race of Remembrance

  • 2hr Endurance Race paused for poignant trackside Remembrance Service

  • Entries now open

Mission Motorsport, The Forces’ Motorsport Charity, which aids in the recovery of those who have been affected by military operations by providing opportunities through motorsport and the automotive industry, is excited to announce that entries in the Karting Race of Remembrance at Thruxton Kart Centre on Sunday 14th November 2021 are now open.

A new addition to the Race of Remembrance programme, Mission Motorsport is teaming up with BARC and the Hampshire based karting centre to enable the motorsport and wider community to participate in a unique endurance race paused at 10:50 for a poignant trackside Remembrance Service.

Open to teams of 4-6 people, the 2-hour endurance karting race will begin at 10:30 stopping only for the trackside service of remembrance. Whether a member of the Forces, a motorsport fan, or a member of the general public everybody is invited to participate. Entries can be made by visiting:

James Cameron, CEO and Founder of Mission Motorsport said, “We are delighted to be bringing Race of Remembrance to Thruxton, and very pleased to have military and veteran teams participating. Race of Remembrance is centred around that poignant service – commemorating the sacrifice of those who have served and I think as we fall silent many will be reflecting on personal experience.  We’ve all suffered loss over the last two years and Thruxton, on the edge of Salisbury Plain is in the centre of a strong military and veteran community and it will be wonderful to bring them together”

Race of Remembrance, now in its eighth year, is one of the highlights of the UK motorsport calendar and continues to grow year on year. In addition to the karting race, activities include a Race of Remembrance at Anglesey, a 12 hour endurance race, an online race open to everybody regardless of location and YourRoR – the opportunity for individuals to complete their own activities. All pause at 10:50 to join a poignant and special Remembrance service which will be live streamed. Monies raised from all these activities go to Mission Motorsport enabling them to help those who have been affected by their service on a recovery path.
